Private services have been held for Jean Sophie Bennight, 85, who died at El Camino Hospital last month. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was a resident of Moountain View for 50 years. She graduated from Dickinson High School in New Jersey and married to Medford J. Bennight, who preceded her in death, in Berkeley. She was a charter member of the Navy Wives Club at Moffett Field, a member of St. Joseph's Church, and later St. Simon's while a resident at the Mt. View Health Care Center for about the last year. She volunteered at St. Joseph's School. She is survived by two brothers, Victor and Salvy Rubel and sister Josie Black, all of New Jersey; three children, Victor of Redwood City, Virginia McCready of San Jose and Violet O'Malley of Ft. Wayne, ID and six grandchildren. Internment arranged by Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary, Mountain View. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
